On a Trip through Portugal – Viseu II

Hello

warning: picture heavy post!
As you can read the title of this post, today we are back in Viseu.
In case you missed the first part, then please check here: PART 1.
I remember, this was a very hot day and it didn’t make the sightseeing any easier, but damn, it sure was worth it!
But instead of me just babbling about it, why not show it to you? Enjoy!

DAY 2

What you should if you plan to visit Viseu:
How’s your cardio? Good? No? Well, then get to the gym and work on it, because you’ll need it!
Get some comfortable walking shoes and just enjoy all the amazing sights this city has to offer. There are plenty of nice terraces to enjoy a snack or drink, great restaurants, and the people are all so friendly!
The nightlife is good!! Plenty of pubs open till late in the city center where most youngsters hang out.

Where to eat:
If it’s hot and you feel like having a good, new and very Portuguese ice-cream then I totally recommend Pastelaria Dom Duarte. There they have very exquisite ice-cream and with flavors, you won’t expect or have anywhere else!
For dinner, you must go to restaurant O Cortiço, but make a reservation! This place is a must, seriously!
The food is out of this world, the staff is super friendly and I can guarantee you that you’ll have a meal you’ll remember for a very long time. If you like to try traditional food, then please do yourself a favor and order Arroz de Carqueija. It’s a delicacy….

Fun facts:

On this day, we walked approximately 18839 steps, which makes a total of 13.34km!
And this was a record of our vacation… Legs reminded us of that during the rest of the days…

Hope you liked Viseu; we sure did and will definitely be back!
Check here the first part of our visit: PART 1.

  1. Not sure how I got to your blog, but I enjoyed seeing photos of Viseu. Before moving to Australia we lived in a village about 30min from Viseu, which was my favourite city.

  2. Oh Portugal, you lovely gem! I'm not sure why but I love seeing the travel adventures, what little gems people capture, especially the phot with the pants hanging on the wall looked truly interesting!! And why can't we have blue skies everywhere in the world, please? Heheh. Anyway, thanks for sharing and happy October to you!
