I will always miss you....

As a Porty living outside Porty land, you start paying more attention and giving more importance to little things, that in the past were just there, in front of your eyes, but that now are just more difficult to find.
In the following pictures, I show you some of those I missed so much that once I was back in Portugal, I HAD to have it! ;-)
All my fellow Porties out there, will understand me.
In case you didn't know, food/meal is a very big thing in Portuguese culture.

A traditional summer lunch bbq... yes, that's fish! :-)

Idéias pré-concebidas

(please use Translation tool if you are not a Portuguese speaker)

Pois é, enganei-me!

Google

From Porty land with love #3

Summer holiday means to me going to the beach as much as possible. This has become a very difficult task during the last years, but fortunately, not this time!
I lied there, as much as I could and it's so damn relaxing; okay, we have to discard all the screaming babies/kids and their parents, silly conversations between teenagers and so on.... Other than that, it was perfect!
Oh, warmer water would have been nice as well, but oh well, you can't have it all, they say!

Now, some pictures of my days at the marvelous beach of Sesimbra:
on my very last day... ;(
 And what do you do on your summer vacation?

There are still some nice pics waiting to be posted, but let's leave that for another time.

The return....

... to work couldn't have been better:
       Early;
       Overtime;
       Rainy;
and the cherry on top of the icing.....
       a cold!

Google

I better not let myself go with the thoughts that just one week ago, I was lying on the beach, with 30C....

From Porty land with love #1

As my vacation started, soon was time to visit Porty-land.
First stop: Vagos Open Air!! Damn, what a great day, together with friends, good music and great vibe! I sure had an amazing time; still feel the pain, though.... hihi
On the next day, I had a short time to check the lovely town of Aveiro. I totally get when they say that Aveiro is the Venice of Porty land. If you visit the north of Portugal, make sure to stop by Aveiro. It's only one hour away from Porto and it can be easily reached by car or train (perhaps even bus, but I'm not sure).
You can take a trip through the canals, in one of those lovely gondolas, and eat one of the delicacies of this town called Ovos moles.
Here are a few pictures I took, while in Aveiro:

And eventually it was my time to go and had a lovely train ride back to Lisbon!

Hello Lisboa!!! :)

Expect some more pics from my time in Porty-land!
See you soon!!

From Frankfurt with love

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to visit Frankfurt for the first time.
I had no idea what to expect from it, didn't do any research, didn't know the highlights or the must-see spots. The idea was just to relax, walk around and see what I'd bump in to.
A nice & interesting movie ad, in the streets of Frankfurt! \m/
Surprisingly, Frankfurt it's quite a nice city, huge, with a mix of old buildings and skyscrapers. My impression is that, it's that kind of city not meant to be touristic but functional; where business happens.
As with many other big cities; Frankfurt has quite some homeless people, walking (or even lying around), right there, in your face, in the city center... Not a nice thing to see.
We were also advised not to take public transportation after midnight, because it can be dangerous; that rang a major alarm in my mind!

Nevertheless, we had an amazing time, relaxing, entertaining, with many long walks, great food and drinks, and also sun! :-)
On the side note; we are major Hard Rock Café fans, and anywhere we go, it is always a mandatory stop. I thought Frankfurt had one, but it seems that it has been closed for the last couple of years.... Bummer! :-(

Anyway, here are some pics, from this amazing weekend! (click on them to enlarge)
It was notorious the amount of buildings in the making, constructions all over the place! The people over there are quite friendly and it´s an easy place to walk around.

Mission Relax: accomplished! :-D

See you next time, Frankfurt!
